wind is worse than sun and nobody talks about it

Honestly the sun gets all the blame but the wind off the coast here does more damage to my skin than any UV I've clocked this summer. I come off a shift and my cheeks are just raw. Tight. That dry pull feeling that no amount of moisturiser seems to fix fast enough. I've started doubling up — SPF50 in the morning obviously, but also a thicker barrier cream underneath when I know it's going to be blustery. Mind you I resisted doing that for ages because I thought it'd feel heavy. It doesn't really. The collagen in the evenings has become non-negotiable for me at this point. Whether it's actually doing what I think it's doing I genuinely couldn't tell you but my skin feels less... beaten up? by Friday. That's enough for me tbh.
