warm-up is where I actually train tbh

Right so I've been thinking about this a lot lately. The warm-up isn't just... getting warm. Like actually. As a physio I see people skip it or do two minutes on the treadmill and call it done, then wonder why their first working set feels like death. What I do now before any push day: 5 min easy bike, nothing mad Shoulder CARs (controlled articular rotations, look them up honestly) Band pull-aparts, maybe 2-3 sets of 15 Then a couple of lighter sets building into my working weight — not just one warmup set, actual ramp sets The ramp sets are the bit most people miss. Going straight from 20kg to your working weight is just asking for a rough session. I usually do like 40%, 60%, 75%, then work weight. Takes an extra 8 minutes. That's it. Noticed my lifts feel cleaner, less of that weird shoulder clunk I used to get on overhead press. Could be placebo, to be fair, but I don't think it is.

used to skip all of this and just wonder why my shoulders felt like gravel for the first 20 mins

aye my pre-run routine takes longer than some people's actual sessions tbh

how long does yours actually take?

I always thought I was wasting time with long warm-ups until I started doing proper joint prep before strength sessions — shoulder CARs specifically changed things for me, way less grumbling halfway through

do you find the CARs actually make a difference to shoulder mobility mid-session or is it more just feeling ready?
