took a rest day and didn't spiral about it

My legs were basically done after Wednesday. Like properly done, not just a bit sore — that deep ache where walking down stairs feels like a punishment. So I didn't go in Thursday. And I didn't do a "light session" either. I just... didn't train. Honestly I used to be terrible at this. I'd convince myself that rest days were for people who weren't serious, which is obviously mad when you think about it. You're literally getting stronger when you're not training. The box just breaks you down a bit. I had a solid sleep, stretched for maybe 20 minutes in the evening, took my creatine same as usual because I read you should keep that consistent regardless. Ate properly. That was it. Came back Friday and hit a clean PR on my power clean. First one in about six weeks. I'm not saying rest days are magic. But I do think I underestimated them for a long time and it was genuinely holding me back.

used to think the same — took me a while to realise the guilt was the problem, not the rest day itself
