skin is officially confusing me right now

Honestly I don't know what's going on with my face lately. All winter I had dry patches, so I switched to a heavier moisturiser and that sorted it. Now it's warmer and I'm getting this weird congestion around my chin and nose — not full-on spots, just that slightly bumpy texture where everything looks a bit dull. Classic. Basically what's happening is your skin's sebum production shifts when the temperature changes. Pores that were fine in cold dry air suddenly have to deal with more humidity and sweat and sunscreen and all of that. I've started being a bit more consistent with exfoliating — not scrubbing, just a gentle acid maybe twice a week — and honestly that's helped more than anything else I've tried. I also swapped my heavy cream for something lighter during the day and kept the richer one just for evenings. It sounds like a lot but it's only two products different from what I was already doing. The main thing I'd say is give it a couple of weeks before you panic and buy everything in the pharmacy. Your skin is just recalibrating, to be fair it usually sorts itself out if you don't go in too heavy handed.

I get this every year without fail when it starts warming up, switching to a lighter gel moisturiser usually sorts it for me

same, gel moisturiser in summer is basically non-negotiable at this point

aye same, I switched mid-spring and the difference was mental — heavy cream was pure clogging everything after training sessions

this happened to me too when I started going to the gym more — think the sweating made the congestion worse around my chin, took me ages to figure out it was that
