legs day tomorrow and I'm already thinking about food
Right so I've got a heavy squat session tomorrow and I've been sat here at my desk between calls just mentally planning what I'm eating beforehand. Sounds excessive but I've messed this up enough times to take it seriously now.
Basically if I eat too close to the session I feel awful under the bar. Too far out and I've got nothing left by the third working set. For me it's about 90 minutes out, something with carbs that doesn't sit heavy — rice, banana, that kind of thing. Nothing fancy.
The caffeine timing is the other thing I actually care about. I used to slam something right before walking in and then wonder why I felt weird mid-session. Moved it earlier and honestly it made a difference. Just feels cleaner.
Anyway. Big squats tomorrow. Legs will hate me by Thursday.
